Modern make-over. Beckner Contracting remodeled and restored this original 1950's Eichler, located in the Walnut Creek, California Rancho San Miguel Subdivision. Renovations included opening up the dark galley kitchen, updating master bath and building sustainable infrastructure for exposed, stained and polished concrete flooring. We expanded sight lines to enhance sky views with additional clearstory windows, installed new cabinets, counter tops and appliances, including an induction cook top. Installed bathroom vanities and details. Replaced interior and exterior hardware, doors and baseboards. Improved storage. Increased, upgraded and replaced utilities: electrical to appliances and lighting, and a comprehensive radiant floor heating system. Always respectful of the house’s original aesthetic.
