Considered an aesthetic of excess, Maximalism can be summarized as “more is more”, contrasting with the minimalist motto “less is more”. It’s a design style that assaults the senses a little or a lot. Blending repetitive patterns, colors, textures, materials, eras, and objects.

Maximalism is much more than hedonistic materialism. It’s an opportunity to let our hair down. Get creative. Be playful. Make bold statements. Color bomb. Mix and match with what we already have. Maybe it’s a way to showcase our unique personalities and interests with less restraint – at home – in a confounding world.
