Chair rail detail for whole-house master carpentry project. Traditional home is refined for the MLS. Precise finish carpentry is critical to remodeling.

Our client, a retired civil engineer, began an ambitious custom cabinetry project for his traditional 2,058 sq. ft. two-story home in Walnut Creek’s Carriage Square neighborhood. Where he and his wife had lived for 38 years, raised their kids, and created beautiful memories.

Unfortunately, John wasn’t able to complete his passion project. A health scare changed everything. The couple needed to downsize and relocate. They wanted a contractor with a background in Old World high-end finish carpentry to complete the work, before putting the residence up for sale.

They asked Beckner Contracting & Management to adorn the staircase – designing, sourcing, assembling, and installing a classic oak balustrade (handrail), solid oak treads, risers, and newel posts, plus wainscoting, chair rails, wall paneling, and skirt boards.

The homeowner said, “I found Craig Beckner to be very understanding. We vibrated at the same frequency.”

In addition, we handled custom built-in cabinetry, flooring, and door paneling. Installed glass cabinet doors with mortised butt hinges. Trimming windows with sills and casing. Upstairs and downstairs.

Your home, lifestyle, and vision may be 180 degrees opposite of this gem, but our skillset, creativity, and mastery are always at play. The proof is in our body of work.
